Information for prospective lifesavers

Checking if a casualty is breathingLifesaving is not just for the kids - people of any age can learn how to save a life.

From age 13 onwards you can join training for lifesaving awards which count towards GCSE PE and Duke of Edinburgh. They also provide excellent preparation for being a lifeguard and look great on CVs and university applications.

The same lifesaving awards are available to adults along with the pool and beach lifeguard training programme.

So if you want to start learning how to save lives, or just fancy coming along for a swim, you'll be welcome at NSVL.

For more information about the type of awards that are available, please visit the Awards Overview page, or view the list of tests for all of the main awards.
